If you thought AI-generated text, images, and video were cool, just imagine entire interactive environments like games! pic.twitter.com/20XV1rwjrr

As we get closer and closer to the total extinction of humanity by AI, Microsoft has dropped a new AI model that is capable of generating 3D video games and controller inputs to mimic actual human gameplay.
On the surface, I have absolutely no clue how this thing works. But what I can say is that if we ARE getting closer to a T2 style extinction event, at least I’ll sleep well at night knowing that soon I’ll be able to generate any kind of video game that my heart desires without having to download some sketchy mod from the dark web.

Microsoft says that this new tech should be able to be used by devs to port old games that can’t run on current hardware to these new machines. They also claim that Muse will help studios prototype new game experiences and deliver new content for players in existing games.
My question is, how long will it be before the cheating that people complain about today becomes a thing from the “good old days.” Imagine being able to boot up your own personal SkyNet Mini to absolutely decimate the 9-5ers who sat in two hours of rush hour traffic just to get home to your Optimus robot curb stomping them in online Mario Kart.
Now that’s the kind of future that I want to live in.
